The Council has 22 Councillors serving five wards. Councillors are not paid and are elected every four years to serve the people living and working in their areas.
The most recent elections were held in May 2023. The next will be May 2027. All Councillors serve on Council, Planning and Strategy Working Groups. Lists of councillors sitting on the other committees can be viewed in the meetings section.
The Town Mayor of Congleton is elected annually by a vote of the Council. The Mayor chooses a charity for their year in office and raises money. Click here for more information about the Town Mayor.
