Teddy Bears, their pre-school owners and parents and guardians are invited to pack a picnic, grab a comfy chair or picnic blanket and join in the FREE fun in the Annual Teddy Bears Picnic in Congleton Park on Thursday 19th June. The picnic has been organised as part of the Tasty Town week by Congleton Town Council and will take place in Congleton Park from 12.30pm – 2.30pm next Thursday. In previous years around 500 people joined in the fun, and the organisers are hoping for a similar turnout this year.
Children and bears attending the event can look forward to story time with Congleton Library, music by Beartown FM, join in with early years Musical Moments with Beckie Morley, Rugby Tots, Xplorer Orienteering with Everybody Sport and Recreation, a range of activities with the Mybabytime team including messy play, sensory play and activities with a large parachute. There will also be a chance to find out about Congleton Children Centre, Ruby’s fund and the opportunity to meet some life-size bears!
The Teddy Bears Picnic was first organised in 2009 and by popular demand has been back every year since. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Congleton Town Mayor, Councillor Denis Murphy said: “The teddy bears picnic is a wonderful event aimed at bringing together pre-school children from across the town to have fun and enjoy our wonderful Congleton Park”.
If the weather is poor on the day the Teddy Bears picnic will be relocated to Congleton Leisure Centre.
