It’s a Knockout – Marks & Spencer

9 February 2012

It’s a Knockout is Coming to Congleton!

Congleton’s Marks and Spencer Simply Food store was quick off the mark and is the first business to register for the Congleton ‘It a Knockout’, taking place on 10th June in Congleton Park. Now the organisers are keen for other local clubs, organisations, families, businesses and friend groups to submit their application forms.
Congleton’s ‘It’s a Knockout’ has been organised by Team Congleton, as a centre piece to the town’s Olympic inspired fun and games. Up to 27 teams will have the chance to compete on huge inflatable games and challenges – complete with foam and water!
Team Congleton President, former Olympic Gold medallist Ann Brightwell, said: “Congleton is really embracing the games. We started the year with a 60 mile run from Much Wenlock, the birthplace of the modern Olympics and our celebrations will continue through to September. It’s a Knockout offers light-hearted competition and fun for local residents and employees and will be a great family day. We are really grateful for the financial support that we have received from local companies and private sponsors, which have enabled us to put on these events.”
Manager of Congleton Marks and Spencer Simply Foods, Jennie Fidler added; “We are delighted to be able to support Team Congleton in their aim to bring Congleton people together to have fun and create new opportunities through championing sport. Marks and Spencer has a store in Congleton and we have jumped at the chance to be involved in the ‘It’s a Knockout Competition’ – now we challenge others to join in the fun!”Registration forms for the It’s a Knockout competition can be downloaded from www.congleton-tc.gov.uk. Teams need to have between 6 and 10 members and all participants must be over 16 years old. It is free to take part – but places are limited and preference will be given to teams that live or work in Congleton.
