Congleton Town Council is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and motivated individual to join its team as the Communities and Marketing Manager and Deputy Chief Officer. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary within SCP 37-41 (£45,441 – £49,498 per annum) for 37 hours per week. The closing date for applications is Thursday 24 October 2024.

The successful candidate will lead a team of five experienced staff and will play a pivotal role in driving the council’s marketing strategy, communications, and community engagement activities. This includes overseeing key events and the operations of the Congleton Information Centre.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Promoting Congleton as an attractive destination to live, work, visit, and do business.
  • Raising awareness of the town council’s activities and services.
  • Leading various town council campaigns, including those focused on the Climate Change Emergency, Integrated Transport, Health and Wellbeing, and Accessibility.
  • Supporting the Chief Officer in town regeneration projects and strategic action delivery.
  • Acting as the Deputy Chief Officer, stepping in when necessary to assist with council leadership.
  • Ensuring the town council remains GDPR compliant and adheres to its constitutional policies and local government laws.
