Congleton Neighbourhood Plan team has already collected around 700 questionnaires – and is urging more residents and people working in Congleton to make sure they have their say before the closing date of Saturday 20th June. Local people can complete the questionnaire by filling in the paper version that was delivered to households in CW12. Questionnaires are also available from various locations around the town including the library, Tourist Information Centre, Tescos, Morrisons, West Heath Pharmacy, Porters Garage, Mossley Pharmacy and the Co-ops on Bromley Road and St Johns. There is also an opportunity to fill in the questionnaire on-line at www.mycongleton.orgAccording to the Neighbourhood Plan team a quick analysis of the early finding of the questionnaires will give some useful feedback to the groups, but the Neighbourhood Plan team would like to see a wider response, particularly from younger groups.Jackie MacArthur from the Neighbourhood Plan team said: “Although we have an almost perfect 50-50 split of male – female responses, half of the early respondents are retired and 80% are aged 45 or over. This compares to the community profile of Congleton town of 50.3% aged 45 or over. There is also a high percentage of owner-occupiers and people living in detached houses. We would like to appeal to all people of all ages and backgrounds to make sure they have their say on their town and not to leave it to others.”Members of the Neighbourhood Plan team will be in Congleton Tesco’s today (Thursday 11 June) from 11-2pm, at West Heath Shopping Centre on Saturday 13th June from 11-3pm and at the Food and Drink Festival on Sunday 14th June from 10.30 – 4.30pm. They will also be an opportunity for parents to fill in forms at the Teddy Bears Picnic on the 16th June. As an added incentive to encourage people to fill in the forms there is an opportunity to opt into a free prize draw and one winner will receive £250.
