Car Parking Scarborough Development
Congleton Town Council has resolved to enter discussions with Cheshire East Council and Scarborough Developments as soon as soon as possible to discuss the impact that the future development works will have on parking in the town.
It is anticipated that works will start in the early part of summer. During construction the town will lose the 82 spaces on the Princess Street car park and due to the relocation of the market some of the 80 spaces on the Fairground Car Park will also be out of action. There will also be a considerable number of extra vehicles from people working on the site.
Communities and Environment Chairman, David Fletcher, said: “Clearly there will be disruption to the town during these works, but we are keen to speak to Cheshire East and the developers as soon as possible and well in advance of works starting to make sure that everything that can be done is done to make sure that the town can continue to function normally. We will also be asking the developers for their help in making the hoardings around the site as attractive as possible so that it does not detract from our In Bloom and Community Pride entries. ”
